GRAN FESTIVAL COLOMBIANO PRESENTS “FIESTA NOVEMBRINA” FEATURING LIVE VALLENATO MUSIC FROM JUVENATO


CHICAGO, IL —The Gran Festival Colombiano presents 1st annual Fiesta Novembrina “Asi Eres Tu Cartagena “ featuring live on stage with their Parranda Vallenata “Juvenato” on Saturday, November 4th, doors open at 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM at Michella Terrace Nightclub & Grill located at 5215 West Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL. Special guests DJs; Direct from Bogota, Colombia DJ Brayan Moreno, along with Ortega Bros. and DJ PRIETO. There will be a special presentation by Colectivo Folclorico y Cultura Raices de Mi Tierra.


The Cartagena Independence Festivities, known alternatively as the November Festivities or Fiestas Novembrinas, are held every year during the week of November 11, the anniversary of the city’s declaration of Independence in 1811. Please join us as we celebrate and honor this tradition here in the Windy City with the live music of Juvenato, dance, food and more.


“We are so honored and excited to be able to continue bring live Colombian music and Support the local music scene along with sharing this beautiful traditional Colombian folkloric music from our country to Chicago,” said Director and Curator Jorge Ortega. We are proud to be part of this conservation and continue to propel our culture to the Colombian diaspora and to the city of Chicago.


Tickets for the show are $10.00 in advance and are available at ColombianFestChicago.com & EVENTBRITE and at the door ($15.00) at Michella Dance Club located 5215 W. Irving Park Road in Portage Park area in Chicago. Ample free parking available.


Portion of the proceeds to benefit International Conservatory of Latinx Culture, (ICLC) a non for profit organization. The purpose of the International Conservatory of Latinx Culture/ICLC is to organize activities that celebrate Latinx/o/a cultural, civic, social and historical events including not limited to the fields of arts performance and education, along with cultural preservation.


About JUVENATO

Juvenato started back in 2003. Created by accordion player Hernan Caraballo, born and raised in Cartagena, Colombia. As Vallenato saw a demand in the Chicagoland area, Juvenato has evolved to be one of the best Vallenato groups in the United States. Performing in cities like Minneapolis, Toronto, Montreal, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Madison, St. Louis, Louisville, and many more. Juvenato has established its self as the premier Vallenato group in Midwest. Juvenato was one of the featured Vallenato groups at this year’s Colombian Fest/ El Gran Festival Colombiano at Northeastern Illinois University campus on the north side back in July!


About DJ Brayan

DJ Brayan started as DJ and animator in Bogota, Colombia at 14 years of age. Working all types of events, he quickly gained recognition for his mixing and animating style. Soon after, he worked at the premier night clubs in the capital city. His big break came when Cristalina Estereo in the city of Neiva offered him a position as DJ at the station. He has worked with stars like Jeison Jimenez, Paola Jara, Rafa Perez and many more.
